Privacy & child safety
Last updated: [DATE]
Lumi is built for children first. This notice explains what information we collect, why, and the choices schools, teachers, parents and learners have. It is written to be read — not buried. Lumi is operated by AI Agents Plus, Nairobi, Kenya (“we”, “us”).
Our commitment
We collect only what learning genuinely requires, we never sell personal data, and we do not use children’s conversations to train third-party models. Teachers and schools stay in control of their learners’ data.
Information we collect
- School & partner enquiries: name, email, organisation and any message you send us through this site, used solely to respond to you.
- Learning interactions: the questions a learner asks and Lumi’s responses, used to help the learner and give teachers a view of progress. [Confirm exact fields and retention.]
- Account & device basics: the minimum needed to run Lumi on a class or school’s devices. [Confirm.]
Children’s data & parental consent
Lumi is intended for use within schools, under the supervision of teachers. Where a school adopts Lumi, the school acts as the data controller for its learners and is responsible for the appropriate consents under applicable law. [Describe your verifiable parental-consent process for under-[AGE] learners, and how a parent or school can review or delete a child’s data.]
We do not knowingly create direct-to-consumer accounts for children without a school or guardian. Harmful or unsafe queries are handled by Lumi’s safety guardrails and surfaced to the supervising teacher. [Confirm the exact safety flow.]
How we use information
- To provide and improve the learning experience.
- To give teachers insight into where a class is thriving or stuck.
- To respond to school and partner enquiries.
- To keep Lumi safe, secure and working as intended.
Data minimization & retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. [State concrete retention periods and your deletion process.] Our approach is aligned with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Lumi, under contract and only as needed. [List sub-processors, e.g. hosting and email providers.]
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. [Describe encryption, access controls and your incident-response commitment.]
Your rights & choices
You can ask to access, correct or delete personal data, or raise a concern, at any time. [Explain how, and your response time.]
